Day 60 - My first flat tire

Eel River
August 25
Tired today , heavy legs , looking forward to the rest day the day after tomorrow !!!
The reason for the tiredness : I was up late bloging , then lost an hour of sleep with the time zone change and had to get up early to cook breakfast and the two days of head winds have finally managed to tucker me out !!

Today we were happy for a short day 101 km !! and the riding part was relatively easy except for the 16% grade hill coming out of Dalhousie !! , but as with other short easy days there was a catch to it , todays catch was bike problems , it started out early with Janice and her shifting problems that required a return to Campbellton to go to the bike shop, then Brigitte breaking a shifting cable , Bob not able to change gears properly and me having my first flat tire of the trip . The trek across the country is starting to take its toll on the bicycles , every day someone is repairing something , but we are keeping them together somehow and will keep on trekking to the end !!!
Not many picture opportunities today , followed Chaleur Bay for most of the day till it seems to have become ocean , went by  a smelter complex that smelt BAD !!! and looked even worse.

We are camped by Chaleur Bay outside of Petit Rocher and the bay is beautiful , just water to the horizon , the smell of algae in the air and sea bird everywhere, our first real taste of the Atlantic !!!

And now I am sitting in my tent as the first drop of rain start to fall , the forcast was for 90% chance tonight and 100% chance tomorrow so it looks like we will be getting wet again . I am posting this and going to bed early !!!

Good night all .
Total ridden today: 104.1 - Average speed: 21.7 - Ridding time: 4.47
