Day 59 - We entered New Brunswick !!!!!!

August 24
( I was not able to get online yesterday , so doing yesterdays and todays posts now )
Beautiful morning on the shore of our little lake this morning , and again the ducks came out to help us eat our morning meal milling around us as if they were part of our group . Once again no wind so we were hopeful of a good day on the road . Out of camp today we headed south and almost right away were enveloped in a thick fog that stayed with us for about 15 km and then all of a sudden lifted . The rest of the day was sunny and warm with temperatures finally going back up into the high 20s ( a very welcomed warmth !! )
The scenery changed again today , no longer did we follow the huge river instead we followed a smaller one the Matapedia, a beautiful shallow river with fly fisherman and canoes scattered along it . We were in hilly territory as they were all around us but since we followed the river downstream we didn’t have many climbs today and the scenery was again quite spectacular with a mix of deciduous and evergreens trees on the slops, the occasional covered wooden bridge adding to the magic of the area.
At km 126 we crossed into New Brunswick finally reaching the maritime provinces , once again picture were taken at the sign but we did not linger to much as we were on galley duty today . Another occurrence today was that we entered into another time zone ( Atlantic Time Zone ) and we will lose another hour sleep tonight, so I better get to bed !!
Total ridden today: 148.1 - Average speed: 22.9 - Ridding time: 6.26

  1. Hola Dave and amigos
New Brunswick is very beautiful. We still have great memories of our trip (in a car) to the east coast. Enjoying your pics and story telling. ¡Va con cuidado! Mark & Deb
