Well gave myself a good test this weekend , 114 km on Saturday and 115 km on Sunday !!. And what a difference a day makes , Saturday was a dreary day cool and windy 9 degrees when I finally got going around 10 AM and the sun just popped out for a few short minutes ( see picture ). My only goal was to ride into the wind on the way out and be pushed home by it , so I headed north through the Marsh , into Bradford west to Beeton , south to Tottenham were I stopped at the Tim Hortons for a hot chocolate and a toasted turkey and bacon club sandwich , ummm it was good !!!! , ended the ride by doing some climbing for the last 15 km just to see how the legs would handle it and they were fine.
On the way back I saw the first goslings of the year in the south Canal of the Marsh
Today it was just beautiful !!! 23 degrees and full sun , just a perfect day for a ride !!!. I had a limited amount of time as I had to work the morning and had to be back around 5ish as we were having the whole family over for dinner. So once again I headed into the wind ( which was not as bad as yesterday ) and started off going through Lloydtown, Schomberg, Beeton again , Alliston ( went by the campground we will be staying at when we stop there in August ) , north to Baxter on to Ivy, east to Georgina Downs racetrack and then a fast trip southbound for home pushed by the breeze!!, 4hour 39 min in the saddle ( 24.8km/h average ) , great legs today!!! I was very pleased .
Stopped for a bite between Alliston and Baxter on this bridge over the Nattawasaga River , very peaceful country up there I could have lingered for quite a while if I hadn’t dinner guest to get back to.
So I’ve logged 1,661 km of training so far , at this rate I’ll be way beyond the 2,000 requested !!!
I'd just like to say I love reading your adventures of your cycling. Sounds like you have quiet the scenary where you are. Getting kidna nervous as the days draw closer. Feelin pretty excited though. Good luck on the last km's you need to break 2,000. I defintly should have kept track. Here's hoping I survive this summer.
