Test ride today was a success!!!

Had a very good ride today with all my new alterations and nothing fell off !!
I headed north to farm country after a little warm up in the Marsh , up the 5th Sideroad to the 9th Line and today as I passed Pete’s house low and behold Pete was actually there!!! , so I stopped and chatted for a while , he gave me some good routes to take for hill climbing which I plan to investigate one day soon. From there I headed west to do some climbing on the hills around Beeton coming back along the 5th Line .

70 km all together today!!! , that put me over the 500 km mark so one quarter of the training is in the bag !!! , not bad. I felt pretty good for all but the last 5 km when I started to get a little leg weary. The country side up there is a lot greener then the last time I was up there , I took the camera with me and took a couple of shots .

So all in all everything worked just fine and the big surprise is the Brooks saddle, I was a bit skeptical about it but it turned out to be very comfy. My patched up mirror actually held much to my surprise, I still have to try the helmet mirror. I tried putting it on yesterday but it’s not all that easy to figure out the ideal placement. Bob I might have to wait till you are over to help me with that.

This is the stretch of the 5th Line I call pothole hell , they’ve filled some in but that really doesn’t help that much as it creates speed bumps instead.

  1. Boy we are having great weather for biking! Happy to see you are building those miles! I am at the farm on the 26th Dave but if you want me to pop over sooner to help you with that mirror let me know. Talk to you soon, Bob

    Keep on Smiling!
