Finally the bike is in the box but it didn't go quietly , no, it kicked , it scratched and it fought dirty the whole way, but when the dust settled it was IN THE BOX ! .
I have no idea if it will survive the trip as it is really stuffed tight in there and if the baggage handlers are rough with it I will need to get first aid for it for sure. And if it does survive the trip I don't know if I will ever be able to put it back together !!, that is if I can get it out of the box !!!!!. I am beginning to think that maybe the 7000 odd km of pedaling we will be doing might just be the easy part of the trip !!.
A special thank you to Evolution Cycles for fixing up the bike . It was a long night and long morning as bike shops don’t open till 10 AM but when I got there Jamie put it up on the bike stand and started working on it right away. As it turns out I had started to strip the thread but he was able to fix the damage and put the derrilleur back on, thank you , thank you , thank you !!!
Hopefully that’s the end of the stress , I must say it was all my own fault for leaving things to the last moment , but who would have known that stuffing a bike in a box could be that challenging !!!!
